Registration Requirements

Home Sharing ordinance (LAMC §12.22 A.33) in effect since 2019. Must register with the city to get a Home Sharing approval (HSA) number. Whole-unit short-term rentals only allowed at host's primary residence. 120-night annual cap without extended permit; up to 365 nights with Extended Home Sharing approval. Registration number must appear in all listings on Airbnb, Vrbo, etc. Platform enforcement: platforms must remove listings without valid HSA number. Fines up to $2,000/day per violation.
